Critical Climate Partnerships: Subnational Governments, Indigenous Peoples, and Local Communities – Focus on California, Ecuador, and Brazil
Hosted by: Governors’ Climate Forest Task Force and the Yurok Tribe
Action to address forest conservation, climate change, and sustainable development requires close partnerships between state and provincial governments, Indigenous territories, and local communities. The Governors’ Climate and Forests Task Force has long worked to support and increase collaboration within and beyond its member jurisdictions. This session will feature moderated discussion between key subnational government and Indigenous leaders from the United States (California & Yurok Tribe), Ecuador (Pastaza & Kichwa Nationality), and Brazil (Tocantins) on how to successfully implement and increase these critical climate partnerships.
